I was testing it with 2 servers on different networks.
The entry in the config file is know from both servers.
Ping works.
I tested it with and without entry;s in the local hosts file.
All result in the same error.
So I thought that would rule out the unknown host error?
I will try to test it tonight with 2 servers on the same (local) network. |

I will have a look in the sources and see if I can find nd reproduce your problem soon. If I get that, I will find a solution for it |

Unfortunately I haven't had time to work on this. Maybe you could PM teleri on this forum and ask how he set up Vaultster to work correctly. |

I followed the directions (: as odd as that sounds though I was upgrading from a previous version of NWNX to the current version I just compiled and added the bits (:
The only part I had trouble with was getting the nwnx2.ini file to be read correctly and that got fixed by moving everythign to lowercase.
Cheers,

So apparently I need to compile to straighten out the libstdc++.so.6 issue.
I'm going to need a little help, I'm afraid. There isn't any makefile, and when I try to compile the source that came along with vaultster, it seems to be missing NWNXBase.h, and spits out a bunch of other compiler errors as well. Do I need to compile it along with the linux source to NWNX, or something? Where do I get the linux source for NWNX? Do I put it all in the same directory and type g++ .... something?
Any help would be appreciated...

NWNXBase.h, etc files are located one directory up (in the base class). I am not really a linux guru, so if someone could tell me how to correctly generate those and eventually also a configure program that would be great! |

Problem is solved.
a typo in the dns name caused the main problem.
The next problem:
Portalling goes fine now, but when I arrive at the target server, it rejects my character. I can choose a different character from the target server servervault. The character portalled does not appear in that list however.
Both servers have ELC and ILT enabled.
A more theoretical question:
2 linked servers are both joinable from gamespy. A player has played on both worlds with the same character. When he leaves world A and joined world B a few days later, how do I make sure he has the character he left world A with.
Is there a possility to transfer the character file when a player leaves the world? |
