Since 1.69 is the last patch, it's critically important to test it with NWNX2 and make sure that everything works ok with the new patch.
So please test 1.69 beta with the latest versions of NWNX2&plugins and post here if you encounter any bugs.
Thank you.

As fast as i can get a localized version, i will do a test. At this time i can't do a check - maybe in the near future when the final reaches the light.

Totally agree. Unfortunately HG can't participate in beta yet, as we are still coverting plugins over.

Looks like the profiler crashes the server at load.

Windows XP SP2

Nwn: 1.69.8103 (1.69 beta 4)

nwnx.exe: 2.6.1.1
nwnx-module.dll: 2.6.1.0

nwnx-profiler.dll: 1.6.0.0

The server starts fine with the following plug-ins:

  • nwnx_chat (0.3.1.0)
  • nwnx_odbc (0.9.2.4)
  • nwnx_resman (0.0.2.0)
  • nwnx-leto (build 03 - FF)

All version information taken from the dll properties.

Nwnx functions and nwnx inventory fix seem to work too - no server crash at start. I don't have version information on those but they should be the latest windows versions.

The nwnx-chat plugin (v 0.3.1.0) crashes the server when a player enters the starting area. The progress bar when loading the area fills up all the way, then the server goes down.

There was only one inventory fix plugin release, and good to know that it still working.

I didn't see this mentioned before, and it's actually not a BioWare bug... but I don't get NWNX to work with 1.69b4.

Updated a big module to 1.69b4 and tried to run it.

Loaded with F9: fine, including new logging and profiling

Loaded with NWNX: crashes at the moment the server says "Running, login bla bla". NwnX catches the crash and reloads the module, which crashes again, etc etc etc.

I am going to test some different setups, but it might be handy to check for yourself if you use NWNX.

Posted this in the BioWare forum.

I didn't use NWNX or NWN profiling/logging with the last test (well, I used those too.. same effect, so I commented 'em out and tried again).

*bangs head on table*

... or you read two posts up, Mister.

After a bit of testing: it's indeed the NWNX profiler plugin that makes the module crash, as MaxRock said. Guess that's not really a show stopper, especially with the native version.

Ran some tests to make up for my blunder above. Very Happy

MySQL connectivity works as far as I can see. Used scripts that use SELECT, INSERT and UPDATE statements, and they give the usual results.

Anyone find a fix for this yet? I really like using the profiler plugin to see whats going on with my mod.

You mean other than to use the new bioware profiler? I haven't looked at it, and it may not offer exactly the same information, but I can't imagine it being all that much worse.

I'll make an updated version of NWNX Profiler after 1.69 release.

hey FunkySwerve I'm just coming back to nwn and have no idea about the nwn profiler..could you look into this some more and update us or tell me when to find the info for it.

Nevermind I found it, have 2 settings in the nwplayer.ini
Enable Profiling=1

[Script Options]
Enable Logging=1

and the serverlog file holds all the info....not to bad shows how many times a script is ran and how long it takes it to run.

Thanks

I have duplicated the same issues in 1.69 beta 10. The new profiler is just ok though I prefer the plug-in format. I used Funky's SimTools and the nwnx-chat plug-in. I am not sure who made the dll for that (I assume it was Funky). Is there an update for the nwnx-chat plug-in in the near future too? That would be awesome. Smile

Thanks! The BioWare one is nice, but I do prefer the NWNX version!

Would it be an idea to let the profiler show the last script executed as well, so you can take a look at your last profiler update when NWN crashes? The

[Script Options]
Enable Logging=1

option provided by BioWare is quite nice but it logs every function used and you can imagine how that affects log file size.
