I installed nwserver and nwnx on a ubuntu (7.06) box, with much fun. I am now looking to do the same on a faster 'production' box, with the stripped down server version of ubuntu (with no GUI).
However I do not know how to do some of the actions i used the GUI for, namely connecting to a windows share that has the dedicated server zip files on it. I know I can burn the files on a CD and get them on the box that way, but would prefer accessing them over the network.
If anyone can help me out with this, or can direct me in the right direction, your help would be greatly appreciated. |

uhm, to access to a Window$ shared folder you need to mount that with Samba Client. Try to run man smbmount, and, if ubuntu minimal distro does not install that by default, try to search that with "apt-cache search smbmount" to find out which package is in to. Anyway Google is your friend, try searching something like "smbmount ubuntu console", im sure you'll get a n answer |
