I've copied the documentation from nwnx.org here:
http://dev.nwnx.org/trac/nwnx4/wiki/Documentation
For starters, it should be updated to reflect the changes in the latest versions (i.e. no MadCHook, new config keys) |

Is anyone having success with NWNX4 1.09 in WINE? NWNX4 will start and it will start nwn2server.exe, but it never gets hooked... eventually timing out and starting up another nwn2server.exe process.
I'm trying to get it to work with:
Ubuntu 8.10 (32-bit)
wine-1.0.1
nwnx4 1.09
nwn2 standalone server 1.22
GrinningFool is experiencing the same problem I'm experiencing.
Thanks!

I'm experiencing the same behavior that cely has described. nwnx4 also doesn't create any log files while this takes place.
Have you have any luck Cely?
testing w/ wine 1.1.18 on intrepid 64-bit. |

I described a method for earlier versions here:
http://www.arcanima.org/node/1076
Tough the info is a bit old it should still work.
An unmodified nwnx4 1.09 should work together with this.
You can get a PE editor ("CFF Explorer") here:
http://www.ntcore.com/exsuite.php
Its the so-called import table you need to edit. The tool in the program above is the so-called "Import Adder" in the left side menu of it.
Good Luck! _________________ /McKillroy

I tried this again with your tool instead of another tool called stud_PE this time. Same behavior; NWNX4_GUI.exe never sees that the server loaded and eventually times out and reloads the server until you kill it.

I'll test myself another time and then check back ...
OS differences and wine issues might come in as well ... _________________ /McKillroy

Addendum as of today:
http://imagebin.org/46663
Info:
--------------
OS: A Zone named "nwn2" inside Open Solaris Community Edition:
--- output of "uname -a": SunOS nwn2 5.11 snv_98 i86pc i386 i86pc
--- output of "wine --version": wine-1.1.2
NWNX4
--- Version 1.09
nwn2server
--- German Version 1.13.1409 (PE edited to require NWNX4_Hook.dll)
Cheers
McK.
P.S.: I'm currently updating nwn2 and will try with the new files as well ... _________________ /McKillroy

$ wine --version
wine-1.1.18
[Ubuntu Intrepid 64-bit]
$ uname -a
Linux linserv 2.6.27-11-server #1 SMP Wed Apr 1 21:34:13 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux
NWNX4 1.09 unmodified
NWN2 English 1.23beta (edited as screenshot depicted)
Any core reason for using wine 1.1.2? I should and will test 1.1.2 and perhaps even wine stable 1.0.1 sometime soon.
EDIT: btw thanks for taking time out to help
EDIT2: i tried wine 1.1.2 and that made no difference |

I believe its some differences in the depths of linux resp. Solaris or the resp. Wine versions, but I will try with linux as well. _________________ /McKillroy
