Alright, this is bugging me.
I recently had to reinstall NWN and NWNX on my linux box, having fired up the server and logged I find I'm unable to use or create any new characters. The errors vary from "Invalid character" to "Unable to write to servervault".
Ive checked the permisssions and have even allowed full read/write and run the server under root credentials, same problem.
Anyone want to throw me a bone?
Cheers. BM. _________________ WooF WooF! |

Are you sure this is a nwnx issue, and not a nwn general issue?
I myself dont use linux, but from what I recall, the recommended procedure for running linux, is never to run the server process as root.
Are you sure you have not set it up to use a different user, that may not exist between your last server box, and this one? |

Im pretty sure its a general NWN linux issue. Yeah I don't generally run as root, that was only a last resort at elminating the cause.
Ive tried most variations of permissions I can think of, full read/write as a group member and as owner. _________________ WooF WooF! |
