Has anyone been using the MNX plugin (a UDP plugin by PlasmaJohn)?

I've been trying to find the docs and download for it, but have come up pretty empty. Has it been ported over to windows yet?

There's this new MNXJ system that seems pretty useful that requires MNX.

Thanks.

Heheh.

How'd I know that you'd find MNXJ interesting, Red?

Glad to see you poking around after all this time....

This is why I hated the old forums at Bioware Guild. It's so damn hard to find anything. But, since I'm a glutton for punishment, MNX was released as part of plugin support for NWNX Linux. Info at SourceForge: Click Here.

My guess is that it's now part of the NWNX Linux base distro: http://sourceforge.net/projects/apsnwnx/ If you still have an Avlis forum account you might send PJ a message. I'm pretty sure it's in there, though.

It has not been ported to windows. It is currently part of the linux base install. The source files are in the download.

Ok, I'll bite: What exactly does MNXJ do? I looked a bit and even grabbed the archive and looked at the readme, and all I can see is that it's something which uses the MNX plugin for NWNX. From that description, I can't tell if it's something that would interest me or not.... Smile

Unless I'm mistaken (not all together unlikely), the plugin let's you open a port and send/receive UDP packets. This could provide a mechanism to communicate with outside services like SNMP, NTP and other assorted thingamabobs.

Actually, that is the MNX plugin, The MNXJ plugin uses that to implement a bridge to Java, i.e. you can code stuff in Java and use NWNXJ as a bridge between NWScript and your Java code.
