|
|
Hello,
We are about to start a NWN X module from scratch.
To enhance RP possibility, we are looking for a way to hide one's player name while the player wears any helmet.
The server will be on windows XP SP3, is it possible ? |

No, you'll need Linux for that.
And NWNX Names plugin. _________________ In Soviet Russia, NWN plays you! |

I heard something about LETO is it something that wouldn't be compatible with NWNX ?
Is it harder to get a server running on Linux when you are used to Windows ? |

LetoScript changes the character files when they're not online. Only NWNX Names can change names dynamically in-game.
No, it's even easier, but you'll need at least a basic knowledge of how to run Linux server. _________________ In Soviet Russia, NWN plays you! |

If you find running a lin server a challenge, you most certainly should not be attempting to run a win server. _________________ Neversummer PW NWNx powered mayhem |

get yourself an ubuntu livecd .iso and boot off of that.
it will boot into a linux environment that is fully functional and you don't have to permanently install anything to your disk. just eject the cd and reboot and you're back to windows.
there are a bazillion "learning linux" type websites out there, and ubuntu has one of the larger communities for help. |
