Sorry if it's a beginner's one, but I'm having a problem with NWN client crashing since I added the NWNCX files to the NWN folder and updated the plugins. NWNX still correctly launches NWServer, however.

I first used nwncx-patch, then added/replaced nwncx_nwnxbridge.dll, NWNCX.dll, module, odbc and funcs from the compatible plugins. I'm currently using leto in my PW, but since I saw no compatible plugin, I left the old one.

Anyone could please tell me what I've done wrong?

Funcs may be crashing the client if it's using absolute pointers.

Is there any way to prevent funcs from using absolute pointers, or should I refrain from using the plugin with NWNCX?

Thank you once more, Virusman!

Try disabling this plugin when you start NWNCX.
And no, the plugin must be adapted for nwmain if it's using absolute pointers to work with NWNCX.

I'm getting a crash as well when loading a module -- it crashes just before the load completes. I'm just using the plugins from the NWNCX download and they are all dated Jan 30, 2010 which looks like they should all be current for NWNCX compatibility.

There's no code running other than default module stuff.

EDIT: I located the offending .dll -- it's the nwnx-chat.dll from the NWNCX package that causes the crash. The .dll is dated Jan 30, 2010.

I'm on WINXP SP3.

That reminds me - I compiled NWNX_Chat from the SVN source a couple of months ago and only recently had occasion to use it - but it was crashing the server.

Went back to the precompiled DLL dated 5/20/2008, and everything worked fine.

Figured I had done something wrong in the compile, and didn't worry about it further - but the above report brought it back to mind.

Note this was NWNX, not NWNCX.
