Pardon this question if it's already been asked or this is the wrong forum for it... Does anyone have any idea on nwnx-mysql compatibiliy with nwn2? Or if the creators are planning on moving it over?
I'm wondering because there's a group of us slowly building a server with plans to take it to nwn2... Staying away from the graphics, which will change, and focusing on scripting/journal/conversation implementation. We're looking to use nwnx for our database needs, but wondered what will happen -- I though I'd ask here.
Thanks!

Obsidian have stated that the only two things that will have backwards compatability from NWN to NWN2 is:
a) Conversations
b) Scripts
So there is a high chance that NWNX2 and many other wonderful scripting goodies will be easily adaptable. However its far to early to really say, no one, not even Obsidian knows for sure just how campatable scripts are going to be, and even then NWNX2 would have to be rewritten to actualy interact with NWN2 (hazarding a guess)
So the answer is a simple one
No one really knows, but the magic 8-ball says "Outlook good" in general for scripters. |

If they leave the scripting like it is now, I would say the chances for a nwnx3 are real good (since that should mean the internal structure of NWN will not change much and NWNX's principles should apply to the NWN2 as well). _________________ Papillon |
