Extend sneak attack range

Is there any tools available that extend the range sneak attacks can fire from? While I can understand the D&D context of 15 meters, the actual implementation in a game setting feels off.

For instance sneak attacking a target which is not in combat and cannot see you from a far distance should be just as effective as running up behind them and stabbing them.
