We are using NWNx2 from not long time ago, some times when the server crash and appears the message of Windows: "nwnserver.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows" nwnx2 tries to reinitiate the server but the previous process follows hung and the server does not reinitiate as it had. (is like if two nwnserver.exe would be running...)

We are running it on windows2000, the module loads fine if we close manually nwnserver.exe and wait to nwnx2 to reboot it.

Another trouble is with gamespy watchdog, if we activate it sometimes it crashes the server...

Sorry for bad English, and thanks for your help.

Is this the oddity that is resloved when disabling Dr. Watson? Seem to remember the NWNX instance not closing completely if Dr. Watson is running.

Yes I think so. Check the web on how to disable Dr. Watson and see if the problem is gone then.

First I'd like to thank the whole nwnx team for all the efforts and contribution to for all of us nwn community and keeping up with all the updates and improvements. I inherited the honor and currently hosting the module named "Menzoberranzan", extensively scripted and a good size(46 megs) module from the creator Sam.
I have a similar problem with nwnx2 failing to restart the server after a crashin "nwserver.exe")(similar message to one that was listed earlier fault Nwnx tries to restart the server but reloading at the wrong/garbage ip . From what I see that the IP address listed on the nwserver loading page upper right hand corner; Instead of the properly assigned ip say 192.168.0.2:5121, it would say "192.168.0.2:-1" and when i close the fault report, "Could not establish network communication, port may be in use" message. I am hosting only one server at the moment and the system is a dedicated, which I don't use for anythingelse. From the task manager, I see that the server is running but at a garbage ip address for some reason. I run the nwnx2 from the command line way it is supposed to. I checked the registry for Dr. Watson and there's no value listed in the debug key but i will delete the key anyway as already talked earlier. I would appreciate the inputs from any of you and again thank you for all your great work for everyone to enjoy and continued support to all of us.

Well thanks but I have port =5121 listed on both nwnx and nwnplayer.ini files , as well as "-port 5121" from the command line. Wierd thing is my other system that used to host the game had similar problems before and a few weeks after updating to the newest version of nwnx, I don't have problem anymore but this newer system I just started (both Pentium 4, 3.2 GHZ, 1 GB DDR) seems to inherit the problem. I'll probably wait and see how it goes as I learned recently to remote into my home system to restart it when it's down. Thanks again.

Looks like nwnx tries to restart the server too soon. There is a parameter called "RestartDelay" in NWNX.INI in the latest version. Try to set it to some higher value (e.g. RestartDelay = 60 for a 60 second delay).

Did that help ?

After tracing throught the application error logs and reading through bunch of MS knowledge database stuff, NWNX was restarting at broken IP address, partly was like mentioned Dr. Watson and the other part was my Win 32 damaged due to infestations ( 5 trojans and some other bugs). Until now I was never really a believer in antivirus software as I used to think they slow down the performance of the system. Not only restarting was a problem, but my connection to the database as well as data corruption was like never before (-3 times in 2 days) Now that it's all cleaned up, secured and reinstalled, everything runs like a charm. Thanks everyone and be mindful there are nasty bugs out there that does nasty things like it did to me Shocked
