I am using NWNX2 to load the server, but I get no log file. What could be the problem? |

You should have a file called "nwnx.txt" in your logs.0 folder (or .1, .2, ...). _________________ Papillon |

That's a big negative. The only things contained in the Logs.0 Folder are 2 files named:
nwserverError1.txt
and
nwserverLog1.txt
Also subfolders named 1-9 also contain only those two files.
Here is a list of the current Dlls that I have:
Am I missing one?
Some kind of change I need to make to an .ini file maybe?
I'm running the program as we speak and still no log file...
Any help appreciated |

Hmm, do you have logfiles in your root folder (say, c:\ or d:\) ? _________________ Papillon |

I have to ask the obvious, are you using the most up-to-date versions of all the nwnx2 .dlls? _________________ Member Shadow of Iniquity development team |

I have version 2.6.1.0 of nwnx-module.dll, version 2.1.5.0 of madCHook.dll, version 2.6.1.1 of NWNX2.exe
I'm hoping that my problems is not the fact that I'm running Windows XP Pro 64 bit edition... |

Same problem, no nwnx.txt logfiles. After doing a direct copy from a machine that it does work on, nwnx fails to load and generate nwnx.txt. Everything is identical, execpt the machine. We even imported the registry entries to make sure it wasnt that. I am convinced that NWNX2 cannot run on X64 XP PRO, unless there is someone out there that has got it to work. |

Do you have a "logs.1" directory?
Sometimes after a crash it will build that directory. If it exists, shut down the NWServer, shutdown NWNX and then delete both the logs.0 and logs.1 directories. Then restart NWNX. |

Yes, I do. The interesting point is Ive searched the HD for that nwnx.txt and it doesnt exist. Right now, I think Im going to do a dual boot with XP Pro ( non x64) and NOT reformat the drive. This will tell me more, I'll share my results ASAP

Confirmed: NWNX just doesnt run on x64 Pro. I did a dual boot install with Windows Home Ed. on the same hard drive. Using the same data on the harddrive, but difefrent OS NWNX ran.
I'm willing to help the community out if they want to try to use my machine to compile an x64 Pro version. Its impotrant because more machines out there will use 2 cpu's or Dual Core technology.
Anyhow,

Couple of things to try....
1) turn off hyper-threading. Yes, it can cause problems with lots of database access utilities.
2) Try running in 32 bit emulation. |

Just had a look on the madshi site and found out that there is no 64 bit support yet. That is why NWNX won't hook into nwserver on 64 bit windows.
If you think about, that is no wonder at all: Windows may look the same, but internally a lot of thinks are different on the assembler level. _________________ Papillon |

ok I just checked the madshi site and it says the new version of MadCodeHook has Vista support (which is 64 bit)
Quote: | · madCodeHook 2.2b
· preliminary Vista support |
So can someone look into this for me and let me know if I can use this to get NWNX to run on my Win 64 machine?
Thanx in advance. |
