I just had a drive die in my server, but luckily everything's backed up each night.
So I dropped in a new drive, restored the backup, and speech isn't working now.
the NWNX log shows the following
* Loading plugins...
* Plugin functions is loaded.
* Plugin leto is loaded.
* Plugin odbc is loaded.
* Plugin profiler is loaded.
* An error occured while loading extension speech (126: The specified module could not be found. )
nwnx_speech.dll is in the same directory as nwnx2 and everything is setup exactly as it was before when it worked fine.
winpcap is installed...but be damned if I can figure out why it's not loading. |

IIRC, the "The specified module could not be found" error occurs when a DLL required by the plugin is not present. I am not familiar with the the speech module, but I'd suggest to doublecheck the requirements again. _________________ Papillon |

Hmm this must be an XP vs 2000 issue... Has anyone run this under win2k?? Using the same backup, and putting it on my computer running xp, it works, but on the 2k machine it doesn't...
Edit: As a side note, if I run the Talus Listener.exe it does show the text in it's window, so winpcap is fine... |

Figured the problem out. Found a great utility called Dependency Walker
Ran it on my server and had it check the speech.dll
Was missing msvcp60.dll and apphelp.dll
grabbed the versions of my xp machine and all is better. |
