Running a PW with SIMS and HGLL everything looked and ran perfectly low CPU usage, low lag and very stable. I noticed that the NWNX log was sending errors * Function not specified.* Library SPEECH!CLEARQ does not exist.* Library SPEECH!MODNAME does not exist.*. However as it was not effecting the module in anyway and all the functions SIMS and HGLL were working perfectly we ignored it.

As a exercise in getting rid of the error message we noticed that the Speech DLL and INI were not in the server directory. SO we put in the speech.dll and .ini then ran the mod and the processor won't run low with no players in no matter what we try. Even after we removed the two offending files the processor wont go under 80% empty. It usually ran Empty around 5%. Any ideas anyone. Does that Ini file do stuff "technical term" somewhere else.

Help please this is killing us . .

Yes, the Speech plugin is not supported anymore and NWNX Chat completely replaces it.

That may be so but the thing is the module is still running white hot even after taking out the offending dll. Any clues on why it might be making the CPU go mad and yes another "techi" term . . and how to reverse it. Is there somewhere in windows that, that dll may have effected in some way.

What she is trying to say is that I put in the nwnx_speech.dll and .ini, the packet sniffer and the Talus listener windows to try them out (we are already running Sims Tools and the chat.dll). I then took them all off of the server hardware after I noticed that the server will not run at under 80% load with 0 users (on a 3200+ amd). Did the speech dll or such fubar a database file in such a way that the server engine is having issues now?

That's why I said a db file and now the engine is having issues with the db file...

Actually we pulled the entire database out to test it and the CPU was still running at 80% with zero players . .

And if you disable NWNX2 altogether?

There may be another instance of NWN still running.. Try another module and if it still uses 80% cpu, I'd recommend to reboot the machine.

Well the upshot of all this was a re-install of windows and using the same files and module version it runs at least on a test rig at normal CPU usage.
