Hello:
I have been attempting to download the nwnx2 system and each time I get a threat detection of a trojan being attached to the download... should I be concerned? _________________ http://frc.proboards37.com/

I have 2 computers that have been running NWNX2 for over 4yrs that have both suddenly come up with madCHook.dll as a trojan. NWNX2 will now no longer run on either computer. The error is;
NWNX2.exe - Application Error
The application failed to initialize properly(0xc0000022). Click on OK to terminate the application.
I tried reinstalling NWNX2 on both computers am having the same problem on both.

Found the culprit, AVG. Even with AVG not running NWNX2 will not run. After uninstalling AVG NWNX2 now runs as it did. Seems AVG is finding a false positive with it's latest update and not allowing the madChook.dll to run.

The latest AVG update is indeed having problems with madCHook.dll. I sent a message to AVG via their tech support email option inside AVG, which also sent them some files from my system so they can analyze the issue. I included a link to madshi's site and to this thread and recieved a auto response email, so AVG should now be aware of the issue...

edit added:
Per AVG's request in another response email, the nwnx zip it vaulted has now been sent to AVG for analysis. I sent the rar from the vault as AVG had already deleted all copies of madCHook.dll... |

AVG is going to fix the false detection next update...
-partial clip from email-
Unfortunately, the previous virus database might have detected the mentioned virus on some legitimate applications. We can confirm that it was a false alarm. We will immediately release a new virus update that will remove the false positive detection on this file. Please update your AVG then and check your files again.
....
We are sorry for the inconvenience.
But when I just checked AVG says it up to date, so they haven't released it yet, but the fix is in the pipe

This has indeed been fixed and everything is working properly again.
Thanks for the heads up! _________________ http://frc.proboards37.com/
