Announcement 10. September 2019
Hello folks,
due to security concerns and the low volume of posts in the last few months, I am sorry to announce that I will close the NWNX forum and the site soon.
It has been a pleasure and an honor to be part of this project since 2004. The original NWNX helped to create worlds that not even Bioware thought were possible. It surely was (and is) a greater success than I imagined at the beginning and its derivates continue to power the NWN persistent world community.
The forum is write protected effective today. In the next few weeks, I will try to create a read-only copy of the posts here. If that succeeds, I plan to host the nwnx.org domain as a static copy for a few years more so that links do not suddenly break. If you want to get in contact with me send me an email to nwnx10 at stiegerhs dot de.
Update 18. January 2020: I got several requests over the last few weeks to bring the site back online. So here it is as a static copy, which means that the forum content is available, but you can not reply or add new topics. Have fun!
Neverwinter Nights Extender
Welcome to the website of the Neverwinter Nights eXtender (NWNX) software.
NWNX adds extra functionality such as SQL database support, additional scripting functions, performance monitoring and many other features to the games Neverwinter Nights and Neverwinter Nights 2. It supports a plugin architecture which makes it easy for third party developers to extend the game even further (more...).
Between 2003 and 2008, the main developer of NWNX was Ingmar Stieger (Papillon). In 2008, Victor Babenko (virusman) took over the project lead.
Be sure to check out the forum and post your questions and ideas over there.
The downloads section contains the latest version and contributions by users.
Key features of NWNX include:
- Makes SQL databases accessible from NWN
- Restarts the server after crashes or lockups.
- Extensible through plugins, with many already available
- Completely free and licensed under the GPL
In the documentation section you will find information on how to install and prepare NWNX for use on your system, and the most recent manuals for the official plugins.
Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition
NWNX2 is only compatible with NWN 1.69.
For a NWN:EE-compatible project, check out NWNX:EE (Nixie):
If you have questions about migration to NWN:EE and NWNX:EE, please post on our forums or ask in the NWNX:EE Discord.
