We are in the process of upgrading our server to platinum, the old version of HCR we are cureently using has some conflicts with the language plugin (the one that replaces the voice)
is there a version of HCR (or somthign that handles resting/bleeding/spells like that) that doesnt conflict? |

You can disable the plugin if you do not need its functionality. Or post your conflict in detail and maybe someone can help fix it. |

Hi there,
I am a Moderator and developer of HCR. At this time I am developing HCR 4.0....Persistence. Please visit us at the official HCR website located at
http://www.neises.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=40
and post the details of any problems you have found with HCR and NWNX2 there. I would be happy to eliminate any conflicts you may know of in the HCR coding. Thanks

There are some nice shots of the old HCM vs my own cleaner system for handling bleeding, death, location, and hit point stuff. My system is not published, but if there is demand... *shrugs*

No offense to you Kilrm since I have no clue how HCR performs vs HCM... I do hope you don't do all that ExecuteScript(...) stuff which HCM was doing. If you are, have a look at that link there. That HCM code was eating my cpu alive...

Wow, that was UUUUGLY! Hehe. No, I don't think HCR will have that problem after I get done with the lastest build. I can't speak about the comparison to HCM but from my own personal build of HCR..before I took up the development of HCR....I had a VERY clean build, nothing like the scarry cpu useage at the site you posted. With the clean up of many of the older HCR scripts by my predicessor and the work I am now doing in optimising and adding actual external database support, the old gal will be a good start for any pw developers.
btw Lanthar, yours were some of the first scripts I enjoyed looking through when I decided to begin scripting for NWN. I still have some around.
And.....none taken |

Yeah, the results came as quite a shock to me too. I knew it was the only system left that I hadn't tweaked, but I didn't expect such dramatic results. HCM has this horrible method of setting a variable, executing a script that will alter it, and then reading it... and for one player I think it executed about 16 scripts by ExecuteScript per heartbeat... if not more...
When I finally decided to rework it I realized all my area cleansing and heartbeat removing had been minimal compared to the improvement I'd get from replacing it...

No wonder you took out the machete and surgically removed it I took a look at my personal build and the processor load with one player on looks like your non HCM server, so I would hazard to say that the final build of HCR 4.0 should be similar. The problem ith HCM was exactly that, it was modular and required alot of ExecuteScript calls.

Lanthar, I might be interested in using your system if you would be willing to share. I am building new bleeding, death, and player info scripts, but why re-invent the wheel if someone else has one you might be able to use, right? |

I would even be willing to put up a sign in the entrance to the module giveing credit for someone kind enough to provide a like clean bleeding/death script be it HCR based or whatever...
What we have now is very Kludgey, and *needs* replaceing. |

I am interested in the clean scripts as well.
Is it possible to share?
I am more than willing to acknowledge any assist possible in getting my PW online with NWNX, etc. _________________ "I love the smell of napalm in the morning. It smells like... victory."
