Fake player list?

There's a server called "Heart of Winter" I'm sure you've all heard of it, anyways they seem to have alot of players on most nights on a single server, and thier max players allowed is 96... on further investigation I logged in when gamespy said they have 43 players online, but found they had only 23 actually on the server. I relogged to double check I wasn't mistaken, and I wasn't, they have doubled there player base but those number of players aren't really on, so I'm just wondering how is this even possible? Also how they upped the max players to 96, I though tthat was limited to 74.

I haven't actually heard of that server. Pretty sure that's all quite possible with NWNX, though I don't think there's any public plugin to do so, and I don't expect there will be. I certainly wouldn't release anything I made to modify player count, as that would render the Gamespy listing all but useless.

The limit is 75, but that's only on Windows servers. Linux can support up to 96 players.
