Maybe I'm daft, but why are you reporting about new Windows functionality here on the Linux development forum?
There is one for Win and one for Linux. Would it not be more appropriate when you buff the windows plugin to report it "over there" instead of here? |

Probably, but this thread is currently the only one about these features. The discussion is often relevant to both platforms, so why confuse the discussion by having two distinct but overlapping threads?

Wow. Just wow. The reaction to this among a certain hardcore roleplaying community was just astoundingly positive. Got to be the most popular update in months, and so simple to implement!

Here's another wish for this:
Show DMs, but mask their names with a fixed string such as simply "DM," which would allow people to quickly gauge if there is a DM online but wouldn't let them directly pester them via tells (making them go through the /dm channel). |

Well, I've had some people give me feedback that they specifically look at that playerlist before joining a server to see if a DM is online. I'd like to help them out with this if I could. |

From an idealistic standpoint, they shouldn't be, as it shouldn't matter one way or the other towards the quality of play.
From a practical standpoint, I very much like ShaDoOoW's solution. Maybe even add a message when players log in to the effect of "There are n DMs online."
From a being-a-NWNX-nerd standpoint, I'll see what I can do, but I'm not TOO concerned about it for the reasons given above.

Hanging on server close a bit more than usual, otherwise no headaches (forced to change server configuration at gunpoint).
