I'm looking for some brave folks that wouldn't mind running a debug version of xp_bugfix 1.0.5 on their servers. This release adds an option (ReplaceNetLayer = 1) in xp_bugfix.ini.

This release is the next in the line in an attempt to reduce the frequency of transition crashes. The ReplaceNetLayer = 1 option replaces a large amount of internal networking code in NWN2 with some custom code to work around a number of bugs which have been confirmed to cause transition crashes.

(Further testing, much thanks to Robert Harris, has ruled out the problem being in the compression layer but deeper down. This release completely replaces all of that code with a completely new implementation of the game protocol. It's still compatible with existing clients, but it should be less buggy.)

If you can provide hard statistics before and after on transition crashes received by players, that would be a great help.

When using the beta 1.0.5, if everything was set up ok, you should see a log message in xp_bugfix.txt along the lines of "CNetLayerWindow replaced".
