I'll pick up on this.

I have a more narrow set of questions on the usage:

CAN I use nwnx4 to do the following?
-1- Save the position of an NPC, or series of NPCs, over a comp/server reboot?
-2- Save the content of an NPC Merchant's inventory, over a comp/server reboot?
-3- Save the module date so that after the comp/server reboot, the date (dd/mm/yyyy) will not reset to the original default but rather pick up from the date before the reboot.

OK, now, even more important, and somehow I cannot get a straight answer for this on the Bioware posts for the life of me, is this question:

-I know NWNX4 uses scripts to make things persistent, and that my very rudimentary C++ knowledge is far beneath the required level of expertise. But could someone please, please - please explain to me, in laymen's terms, how scripts are added to NWNX4? Or are they added to the module and NWNX4 is configured to run them? A straight forward 'they are added here, and they are called upon by this/that' would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Ok, so, one last question.
...is there somewhere, posted, listed or placed in a database, scripts that can be used to make specific aspects such as I listed above, persistent? And if not, why not?

Yes, you can do those things. NWNX has database plugins which you can think of as just adding new NWScript calls you can make which query/update/delete entries in a SQL database. You add the script code to use these new NWScript APIs as desired to your module, drop in NWScript script definitions provided by the NWNX plugin in question so that you can access the new script APIs, and launch the server with NWNX (and that's mostly it) -- as a high level overview.
