See my reply here. Right now, it doesn't seem likely that we'll change how we hook, but if there's a compelling reason, it's possible.

<Fluffy-Kooshy> NWNx plugin is to this as nuclear warheads are to getting rid of fire ants.

<ThriWork> whenever I hear nwn extender, I think what does NWN need a penis extender for?

I've installed the nwnx2 as instructed, and when I load it up, the box that says "crashes" goes up by one every fifteen or twenty seconds. The loaded module is also not one seen on the multiplayer list.

This isn't working for me.

Good question -- it's not really clear what's causing this. You're using version 1.69 of NWN, right? What NWNX plugins do you have in the NWN folder?

Yes, using 1.69 and the latest version of CEP.

I have LetoScript.dll (I don't think that is nwnextender)
MadCHook.dl
NWNX.INI
NWNX2.exe
nwnx-module.dll

I didn't dl any of the plugins on the plugin page, so none of them are in there.

http://mercuric.net/nwn/nwnx/madCHook.dll is the version of madCHook that works on Win7 64-bit for me, so you might want to try that. Also, check your logs.0/nwnx.txt file -- I suspect it won't be particularly helpful here, but it may reveal something about what's going on.

Still getting the crashes, so it isn't likely to be Madhook.

That logfile is completely empty, there is nothing on it, just a file.

actually, I don't have a file called that in my logs0 folder, I have 8 sequentially numbered folders (1-Cool and in the fourth I have a file called "nwserverlog1", which is empty. The rest of the folders are also empty.

That implies that NWNX isn't running at all, or at least isn't up for long enough to write the first entry to the log file. Check the other directories - they're the backups from previous attempts.

All of the folders were empty, there were no files with any content in any of them.

NWNX4 doesn't use MadCHook and doesn't have problems with 64-bit environments.
This topic is about NWNX2.
