Ubuntu IS linux. Linux is just the kernel. It will run on any linux distribution (like Ubuntu) that provides the required packages.
And yes, many people run it successfully on Ubuntu and Debian. |

We're using the ubuntu LTS server (10.04) 32bit.
Everything nwnx (elven's compiles) + nwn works out of box. Compile, you'll need the mysql dev headers package at least, most of the others I think are ok OoB.
