I've seen some mention of this problem in another thread, but no real solution.
I'm getting an error with vaultster on Red Hat 9 which relates to the libstdc++.so.6 library. The advice in the other thread was to recompile the vaultster plugin. I see the linux src directory in the distribution, but I don't know how to re-compile the program without a makefile. Any help on this, or is this even necessary?

That error would indicate to me that libstdc++ isn't installed.
The bigger problem is Redhat9 is a bit old these days and redhat have moved into providing entriprise solutions and given over there free version to be developed under the name of Fedora, which would be the recomended upgrade path if you liked redhat, the details via redhats website: http://www.redhat.com/fedora/ which links to fedoras own little place on the web: http://fedora.redhat.com/
Because redhat9 is rather old, it doesn't appear there's any rpm's with the new version of libstdc++, which leaves you only with the compile option or the upgrade option (persionally I'd recomend an upgrade, if only because of the vast changes in linux over the past 2 years) |

I appreciate the reply! I've been thinking that was probably the best route to go, but have been hesitant. Things are running so smoothly as they are..I feel like the pizza guy on that commercial..."I fear change". lol...
I've been running fedora core 2 on my box at home and haven't had any problems, but I've never done an actual upgrade of linux...I've always done fresh installs. From your experience, does fedora upgrade and play nicely over red hat 9?
I'll probably just back stuff up and go for it...what is there to lose, eh? Thanks again for the reply, and any advice is greatly appreciated!
@libstdc++, it's installed, th ough it's an older version. I tried making a symlink to the right file name, but then another file came up...I decided to stop the madness and ask for help at that point.

I'm a debian person myself, aparently there is a working upgrade option from Redhat to Fedora, though I'd backup your /home folder before trying it just incase you want to do a fresh install if it doesn't work.
