The original version of the Talus Speech System would copy text that it parsed into a table in the database. Then NWN would grab it from the database using traditional NWNX means.

With the speech plugin, the database step is skipped and the parsed text is pushed directly into NWN.

If you are using the dll. you should definitely tell the configuration dialog that comes up to NOT use the database.

More helpful stuff in the speech thread here (originally about Jeroen's dll adaptation, but I took over the thread with mine since it was more advanced...)
