Are you going to attempt to build a version of NWNX for it? Please?
Somehow Obsidian mis-spoke when they said they intended to support PWs better, instead of Persistent Worlds they meant they intended to support WORLDS better
So much for jumping right into NWN2.... |

The official statement on this is:
I will wait till NWN2 is available. If it turns out that the database is as lacking as it is in NWN1, or if it turns out that most of the NWNX plugins still make sense in the new version, there is a good chance that NWNX4 (2^2) will come into existence.
Btw, what is the release date supposed to be ? _________________ Papillon |

No official word yet on release
The rumours and signs says end of second quarter 2006. One distributer has posted June 15th.....
Obsidian told us to "Temper our expectations" about database support during one of the community chat sessions in response to several threads where we had been asking for ODBC support. He also brought it up before we had a chance to ask about it Not good signs... |

NWNX is not only database support, even if that is probably it's best feature. Well see what will be in the final product. _________________ Papillon |

I've gotten so used to NWNX, NWNX_Functions and LetoScript its hard to even imagine getting by without their functionality, and not just for database support....
ThanX! for creating NWNX for us! |

I saw this post in the bioware nwnx2 forums also, and I also saw another post which led me to believe that there would be some sort of ODBC database access. Guess we all have to wait and see when the game is released. _________________ Member Shadow of Iniquity development team |

NWN2 have stated that they are using "codebase" as the database.
In itself this should give decent database performance, I think the shortfall was in the NWN implementation. Expensive Open/Flush/Close operations on the files for each write.
Obsidian have implied that the new format is a 'campain' database. Maybe this is an indication that the files are opened, and kept open, while the module is loaded - even during the swapping between modules.
We wait to see...
Cheers

I think it's November 3rd now, excluding the DM Client. Lol.
