Hi all.
Anyone tried upgrading to sp1? I had a pretty bad surprise with the plugin I develop when I installed the patch ... |

Hm - could you clarify further, as I'm considering updating myself? _________________ Khalidine, a NWN2 persistent world

Basically, I'm working on a plugin for nwnx4.
Everything was going pretty well, etc...
Last night, I upgraded to the SP1, and recompiled my plugin.
It would then work on my development computer, but not on the server.
On the server, nwnx4 fails to load the plugin with a "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem (14001)." error in the logs.
I tried many things to fix it, spending lots of time, following various advices on the net... none of which worked. Finally, I just removed visual and reinstalled it all, without the sp1 ... just recompiled my plugin, it works back again...
The project configuration I use for my plugin is the same as the other nwnx4 plugins (I did not try to compile those to see if they worked)
Quite a bad surprise, and a big waste of time to figure out what was going on ^^ |

Running VS2005-SP1 with no issues. (under Vista now)
Mind you my dev-box is running the server as well.
Cheers

Youx: have you tried rebuilding the nwnx executable as well? _________________ Khalidine, a NWN2 persistent world

This sounds exactly the the error you get when you try to run a debug build on a computer that hasn't got the platform SDK installed... you might want to try a release build instead. _________________ Papillon |

@Grinning fool : I haven't used a rebuilt version, but even with the old exe, it worked on the dev machine
@Papillon : Yeah I know of this. It was a release build, I'm 100% sure of it (that's part of the things I checked when trying to solve it). |
