How do you interact with NWNX ?
Do you like the graphical window that pops up when you start NWNX4_GUI.exe ? Do you like the old school style of NWNX4_Controller.exe ? Or are you one of those who just install NWNX once and then forget about it (service mode) ?
I'm curious. _________________ Papillon |

All done via a desktop shortcut...
I've altered the properties to specify the parameters I want, and the GUI pops up with all the pre-sets
Cheers

With nwnx2 I set up a command line in .bat and left it on the desktop. I found having the .bat open in notepad was a very easy way to quickly edit the params and save and run the .bat again. Much more tedious to edit them in the small boxes in a icon's properties
Since nwn2's server doesn't respect as many params yet, i've just been use the ini file settings for most of it.
I do especially like the nwnx4 gui's ability to stop and restart nw server. It just saves that much more time in the debug loop...

I just installed NWNX4 last night, and am running it using GUI. I like the ability to specify the parameters through the shortcut. So far so good, good job Papillon on this. Just like NWNX2, really straight forward and easy to install & setup with MySQL. |

Currently I use -interactive mode because it's fastest for testing plugin tweaks, etc, but will be switching to service mode once we go live with our PW's beta in a couple of months. _________________ Khalidine, a NWN2 persistent world

Good plan.
I'm using -interactive now, but it's not like I need that window. I just want the server up and running with the chosen settings

I only started using NWNX4 over the last couple of months. The two PWs I'm working on are in there infancy, so I don't have any "regular" use of NWNX. Once things are semi-stable, I think I will be using the windows service. Time will tell.

Service mode has received surprisingly few votes. Anway, it is always interesting to see how people are using NWNX. _________________ Papillon |

Service mode is nice for remote/automatic server reboots, but the lack of any indicator (like that nice GUI) that lets you know everything is up and running has made it "second-rate" in my opinion.
