Hi all. I've got MySQL installed and the ODBC installed and then I created the pwdata table in the nwn database. I've also created the nwn datasource in the ODBC Control panel app. When I run the aps sample mod, it runs and I can click the signs, but there doesn't appear to be any data getting sent to the database. What should I look for to indicate that there is a problem? Any suggestions would be helpful.

First off, get the MySQL plugin for NWNX instead of using ODBC - it's more efficient and easier to set up (or look into the alpha of something or other, that unifies the module or yada yada... search the board for "MySQL" and "ODBC")...

With that said, I'd suggest making sure the MySQL ODBC driver has the correct DB user/password stored (so that it can read/write the DB appropriately)... Also check the permissions on the DB user you're trying to log in with - if you haven't given it write (or read!) permissions to the "nwn" database or "pwdata" table, then it's certainly not going to work. If that fails, make sure your NWNX .ini file has the appropriate ODBC info in it so that it can correctly make the ODBC calls.

NWNX produces a log. Check it for errors. They can certainly help identify problems. Also, make sue you did one of these:

Yes, you might want to try the accompanying module and see if that works. If not, make sure you have the newest nwnx_odbc.dll file in the Neverwinter Nights directory and that you have set up the ini file correctly. When there are still errors, please post the content of the 'nwnx_odbc.txt' file in the logX directory (where X is the log directory for your server, probably 0).

is your MySql set up as a service and running? if it is did you set the NWNX.INI files in the odbc section correctly? make shure the ;; are removed from in front of the line for the mysql db?

and put the ;; in front of the

also dont forget to download the plugin for the odbc and put it in the nwn directory. nwn_odbc.dll

It seems that you don't have the nwnx_odbc.dll file in your Neverwinter Nights directory. Otherwise it should atleast be listed as either loaded or with an error message. Please download the latest odbc2 module and try again
